How we work

Two ways to work with us, both on the ground.

Therapy · with a registered counsellor

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

A registered mental health professional and an equine specialist work alongside you and the horses, following the internationally recognised Eagala model. Suited to anxiety, trauma, low mood, family conflict and big life changes.

Equine Assisted Learning

Practical, hands-on sessions that build confidence, communication and emotional regulation through activities with the horses. Educational rather than clinical, and often deeply calming.

About learning sessions

We also run small groups, school days, team days, carer wellbeing sessions, seniors visits and horsemanship lessons. See every program.

Why horses?

They notice what words leave out.

  1. Honest feedback

Horses are prey animals, finely tuned to body language and mood. They respond to what we do rather than what we say, which makes them gentle, truthful mirrors.

  2. Every horse is someone

Each of our horses has a personality: the bold one, the shy one, the clown. Building a relationship with them often echoes the relationships in our own lives.

  3. Big, and approachable

Approaching something large and powerful, calmly and safely, is practice for facing the big things elsewhere.

No riding in therapy or learning sessions, so everyone can take part regardless of ability.
