Learning with the horses

Equine Assisted Learning is practical and educational. You will spend time getting to know our equine guides, take part in ground activities and explore how horses communicate, cooperate and settle. Each session is built around a goal, such as staying calm when things feel hard, or speaking up clearly.

Sessions are run by our equine specialist, whose background is in case management, mental health and community services, working with children, young people and families.

Learning, not therapy

EAL sessions do not include a mental health professional, so we don’t give clinical advice. They can still be deeply calming and therapeutic. If therapy would suit better, we will talk with you about Equine Assisted Psychotherapy or refer you on.
